Big Love For Time For You Counselling
Meet Nicola Holmes, the founder of Time For You Counselling.
Nicola joined the Women Who Business Community over a year ago and in that time, she’s brought her warm, thoughtful presence and deep expertise in supporting those on their neurodiversity journey.
She specialises in supporting and working with adults, teens and children with ADHD and Autism and offers awareness training for those seeking better understanding.
As a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapy, Nicola is trained in:
- Bereavement awareness
- Teens in crisis
- Personnel management
- Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
- Natural mindfulness
What we especially love about Time For You Counselling is Nicola’s passion for holding sessions outdoors in nature. She firmly believes Mother Nature offers our minds, bodies and souls the gift of healing and restoration.
We also love that clients get the option of being joined in her practice room by Freddie The Therapy Dog – an eight-year-old cockapoo who brings calm, comfort and the occasional cuddle to sessions.
Nicola’s work is beautifully summed up by a quote from Paulo Coelho, author of The Alchemist, that she shares on her website:
“Maybe the journey isn’t so much about becoming anything. Maybe it’s about unbecoming everything that isn’t really you, so you can be who you were meant to be in the first place.”
We couldn’t agree more.
Why did Nicola start her business?
Nicola started her business with a clear purpose: to support people who are struggling with their mental health. Over time, her work has become more specialised, particularly in helping those who are late diagnosed with ADHD or autism, as well as children navigating neurodiversity.
What motivates her most?
Seeing her clients grow in self-awareness, self-esteem, and resilience. Nicola loves watching people move from a place of lack to a place of thriving, developing coping strategies that allow them to truly blossom.
Some of Nicola’s biggest challenges?
Like many small business owners, Nicola finds the admin, accounts, marketing, and planning side of things the trickiest part of running a business.
Some of Nicola’s proudest wins?
Nicola has achieved so much on her journey, including:
- Specialising in ADHD and autism
- Appearing on radio and podcast interviews
- Scheduling her very first retreat
- Launching her unique nature therapy sessions
- Becoming a clinical supervisor
Her advice for new business owners:
“Decide on your target group, write your website, tell your target client how you can help them, get a good accountant, be brave, be realistic.”
Life outside work:
When she isn’t supporting clients, Nicola can often be found wild swimming, keeping fit, and spending time in nature.
