MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID TRAINING with Wendy Garrett

May 11 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Learn about the benefits of Mental Health First Aid Training for you and your business.

In the UK, poor mental health costs employers up to £45 billion each year. When staff are experiencing poor mental health, the negative impact it has on their life and work is substantial. Looking after your staff’s well-being is ethically the right thing to do.

Why should your organisation invest in Mental Health First Aiders:

  • Improve the well-being services offered to the team
  • Provide additional support to the HR function
  • Reduce the stigma of mental health and encourage people to talk about mental health
  • Support staff who were experiencing poor mental health
  • Reduce staff absence and accurately report the reason for absence

About Wendy Garrett

Wendy is passionate about inspiring people to look after their own wellbeing and the wellbeing of others; to feel confident having the difficult conversations that really can make a difference. Because ignoring problems doesn’t make them go away, but compassionate conversations can change lives.

In 2012, she retrained as a Trainer and Assessor and went on to add MHFA England training to her work, driven by a simple belief: supporting people’s health and wellbeing should never be an afterthought.

Since then, she’s personally trained over 1,200 people in practical mental health skills that enables individuals, managers and organisations create safer, kinder more human workplaces.

This year she’ll be qualifying as a coach to support aspiring people managers to grow and lead with compassion. “When leaders are well, teams thrive”

Wendy combines lived experience, professional training and a deep love of people to help organisations build cultures where wellbeing matters, conversations feel safer and nobody feels they have to struggle alone.

This session will give you a fantastic overview of what Wendy’s courses involve and will more importantly give you a sense of what Wendy is like as a trainer; friendly, engaging and extremely knowledgeable.

You will not be sold too, you’ll be educated. We’d love you to join us.

This session is free for all Connect Members (register with your Connect Code) and £16 for non-members.
