As part of Big Love For Small Business we asked Hannah the following questions …
Why did you start your business?
I’ve always been obsessed with business, from running a sweet shop at school to writing business plans for fun as a teenager, so it’s always been in my plan. I love the idea of being able to help small business owners build a dreamy business that gives them time and financial freedom and helps them achieve wild goals.
What motivates you to keep going in your business?
The opportunity that’s out there, my wildly ambitious personality, my family and the life I want to give them.
What are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced as a business owner?
Overcoming the embarrassment (and imposter syndrome) that comes with posting online and not having any close family or friends that run a business so feeling lonely in that sense.
What are some of your proudest wins or achievements in your business journey?
Just starting in the first place! I spent 13 years working my way up in corporate, working in finance and operations, knowing there was more out there for me, but I let fear put me off for a long time.
What advice would you give to someone thinking about starting their own business?
My practical head says make sure your finances are in the right place and start alongside employment at first if you can.
My ambitious side says go for it! Lean on the free and low-cost resources and support that’s out there to begin with. Everyone is walking a different path so don’t compare your business success to anyone else’s. If you’re passionate, you’ll be successful.
What do you love doing in your free time?
Being with my family, seeing our extended family and visiting new places. I’m a massive foodie so our free time revolves around going out to new cafes and restaurants, going for ice cream with my toddler, having lunch with family.
What do you love most about our community?
How welcoming and low-pressure it is. It’s inclusive, friendly & I felt at ease within minutes of arriving at my first meeting! People are genuinely there to help each other and build each other up.
If you’re looking for support, friendship, inclusivity, low-pressure networking, opportunity and connection – join in 🙂
