Big Love For Caroline Laudren

Meet Caroline Laudren, an independent financial adviser working with Consequential Planning, based in Bewdley, Worcestershire.

With over 15 years of experience in sales and investment banking across Paris, New York, Birmingham and London, Caroline brings a wealth of international expertise to her work.

She specialises in savings and investments, savings protection, employee benefits, life planning and pensions and tax, helping individuals and businesses make smart, secure financial choices.

What we love about Caroline is that she brings a truly international perspective to her work.

Recent research tells us that around 40% of brits feel very uncomfortable talking about money and more specifically, according to HSBC UK, 2 in 3 British women do not feel comfortable investing money.

Being French, and having worked internationally for many years, Caroline has a refreshingly different attitude towards money and finances – open, positive and empowering. She’s especially passionate about helping women find financial freedom, build their confidence and take control of their financial futures.

As part of our Big Love for Small Business campaign, we asked Caroline the following questions …

Why did you start your business?

“I started my business after reaching a natural end in my investment banking career. The Birmingham desk was closing, and the next step would have meant relocating to London – which I did for six months while I was pregnant. At the same time, I was starting a family and wanted more flexibility while staying rooted in leadership. It felt like the right moment to create a lifestyle that combined my knowledge and expertise with a more balanced and meaningful way of working.”

What motivates you to keep going?

“What keeps me going is knowing the real impact I make on people’s lives. I love educating clients, helping them feel more confident about their finances, and seeing their plans come to life. The new connections I’ve made, the lifestyle I’ve created, and the exciting future ahead all motivate me, and there’s never a shortage of meaningful work to do.”

What’s been your biggest challenge as a business owner?

“One of the biggest challenges was transitioning from a high-earning, employed role to being self-employed and building everything from the ground up. It was a huge shift – financially, mentally, and emotionally – but also an incredible growth journey that’s made every success even more rewarding.”

What are you most proud of so far?

“Some of my proudest wins include that unforgettable first client sign-up and the meaningful outcomes I’ve helped clients achieve; like the relief on their faces when they saw what their retirement could look like, or the corporate tax savings I’ve been able to uncover.

On a personal note, I’m proud of the network I’ve built in just 14 months, the two podcasts I’ve recorded, and even pushing myself to show up on social media, something well outside my comfort zone at the start. It’s been full of wins, and I know there are many more to come.”

What advice would you give to someone starting a business?

“Go for it. If you have an idea you believe in and the financial stability to back yourself, it’s worth the leap. Surround yourself with the right people, mentors, peers, and professionals because support and perspective are invaluable.

Map your path, but stay flexible. Be prepared to wear many hats, stay consistent, and celebrate the small wins. It’s not always easy, but the growth, freedom, and impact you can have make it incredibly rewarding.”

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

“Horse riding and taking some time for myself!”

What do you love most about The Women Who Business Community?

“I love the support, honesty, and inspiration. It’s a space where women genuinely root for each other, sharing wins, ideas, challenges, and love. We all come from different backgrounds, but there’s a shared energy and drive that makes every meeting feel empowering. I’ve made real connections, learned from others, and been seen and heard. It’s so much more than networking – it’s a circle of strength.”

Do you have a story to share about your time in the community?

“Since joining, I’ve formed some truly valuable professional collaborations that are still going strong today. I’ve also met clients through the group, which just shows the trust and connection built within the community. Beyond business, it’s opened my eyes to so many new areas; from branding and photography to medical support. The exposure to different expertise has broadened my knowledge and completely shifted how I approach networking.”
