Big Love For Tabby Tiger

Meet Vicky Kangurs, the founder of Tabby Tiger

Vicky, at Tabby Tiger, offers strategic communications planning, copywriting and content creation for charities. You give her the brief, and she’ll give you the plan or the words.

She’s always loved writing and can craft everything from press releases, website copy, and news items to blogs, articles and promotional materials. Whether it’s producing a full comms plan or creating one brilliant piece of content, Vicky takes time to understand each organisation’s unique tone of voice and audience, ensuring every message lands exactly where it needs to.

Vicky offers flexible services to suit different budgets and aspirations, however small. She can support you with a multi-channel strategy or help you focus on a specific area. She’s also skilled in social media management, believing that every business has a space where its target audience hangs out … and she’ll help you find it.

Her passion for supporting charities began early. As a child, she loved counting the coins her parents collected in a charity box, which had a special place the windowsill, and delivering donation envelopes to neighbours. Those early experiences showed her the power of small acts of generosity and inspired a lifelong love for doing good and supporting local causes.

In 2018, after many rewarding years working for a large charity, Vicky decided it was time for a new chapter. While she loved her role and the incredible team she worked with, the job had grown so much that it became impossible to meet everyone’s expectations. Founding Tabby Tiger gave her the freedom to use her skills to support a broader range of causes and organisations doing meaningful work.

Vicky is also the proud host of The Women Who Charity Collab Club in Worcester, as well as the Charity Meet-Up in Birmingham and online; spaces where collaboration and purpose-driven connection thrive.

As part of Big Love For Small Business we asked Vicky the following questions …

Why did you start your business?
“To feel useful and enable me to support more good causes other than just the one I was employed by at the time.”

What motivates you to keep going?
“The causes I support and the passion for driving change and helping people amongst the teams I work with.”

What challenges have you faced as a business owner?
“Isolation is definitely an issue at times plus being brave about pricing and feeling unable to switch off.”

What are your proudest wins?
“I’ve worked with so many wonderful clients over the years, but honestly, a kind email or message saying I’ve done a good job is always a proud moment.”

What advice would you give to someone starting out?
“Speak to others who’ve been in your position and find the right networking group to foster a sense of belonging and get advice. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, people are usually flattered to be asked.”

What do you love doing in your spare time?
“My horse hoovers up most of my free time, but I also love Zumba and yoga. I played netball until recently too!”

What do you love most about the Women Who Business community?
“I love the sense of belonging and the chance to give and get support. The Charity Collab Club really excites me. I recently asked for help with a charity I work with, and the response was incredible. So many kind and generous people offered support.”

What would you say to anyone considering joining?
“Come along to an event using your free pass and give it a try. You’ll feel the buzz, warmth, and energy the second you walk in. It’s the perfect blend of friendship and business.”
