Big Love For Louise Squires Hypnotherapy

Meet Louise Squires, Clinical Hypnotherapist and founder of Louise Squires Hypnotherapy.

Louise’s journey into hypnotherapy began back in 2010, during one of the most difficult times of her life. On the outside, everything looked fine, but behind closed doors she was struggling with severe anxiety and frequent panic attacks.

Discovering hypnotherapy was the turning point. Not only did it help her recover, but it also sparked a fascination with how the brain and subconscious mind work. Louise realised her anxiety wasn’t who she was; it was simply a pattern her nervous system had learned in survival mode. And if it was a pattern created, it was one that could be undone.

Driven to understand why hypnotherapy worked when nothing else had, she trained as a clinical hypnotherapist. She immersed herself in learning about the brain, subconscious patterns and the beliefs that silently shape our lives.

Today, Louise helps her clients break free from unhelpful cycles, not by endlessly revisiting the problem, but by changing the patterns that created it in the first place. Her approach is focused, results-driven and built on the belief that you don’t need years of therapy to make lasting change. What you do need is readiness and the openness to believe you can change – because you can.

Her own lived experience makes her work deeply empathetic. Having battled anxiety and panic attacks for over 15 years and being diagnosed with ADHD at 44, Louise understands the challenges of mental health and neurodivergence firsthand. This insight allows her to support clients in recognising their strengths and becoming the best versions of themselves.

So far, Louise has:

  • Delivered over 100 talks on mental health and how our brains work
  • Worked with over 500 clients worldwide
  • Built a reputation for her warmth, friendliness and genuine passion for helping others

She supports clients with a wide range of issues including anxiety, stress, addictions, weight management, quitting smoking, pain management, depression, relationship challenges, insomnia, confidence issues and phobias … the list goes on!

Louise’s philosophy is simple: you don’t need fixing, you need understanding. By learning how your brain and nervous system drive negative patterns, you can take back control and create lasting change.

As part of Big Love For Small Business we asked Louise the following questions:

What motivates you to keep going in your business?

What really motivates me to keep going in my business is seeing the difference it makes for people who are struggling. In the UK, mental health is such a huge issue right now. Waiting lists are long, support can feel hard to access, and so many people feel like they’re hitting dead ends. I know how that feels because I’ve been there myself. I’ve faced my own struggles with mental health, and I’ve also seen how challenging it can be for my children too.

That’s why I’m so passionate about what I do. I don’t want people to feel like there’s no way forward. For me, it’s about offering real, practical help and showing people that change is possible. Every time I see a client make a shift it reminds me exactly why I started and why I’ll always keep going.

What are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced as a business owner?

One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced as a business owner is simply learning everything that comes with running a business on top of actually helping clients. When you first start out, you think it’s all about the therapy work, but there’s also marketing, accounts, admin, keeping up with regulations, it can feel like a lot at times.

Another challenge has been confidence. Even though I’m passionate about what I do, in the early days I often asked myself “Am I good enough?” or worried about putting myself out there. It took time (and a lot of self-belief) to trust in my skills and know that I can genuinely help people.

I’d also say balance has been a challenge. As someone who’s been through my own mental health struggles and supports my children with theirs too, making sure I look after myself while building a business has been so important. But I think that’s also what makes me relatable to clients, I understand first-hand what it’s like to juggle everything while still trying to move forward.

What are some of your proudest wins or achievements in your business journey?

Some of my proudest achievements are the transformations I’ve seen in my clients. Watching someone walk in feeling completely stuck with anxiety, a phobia, or a limiting belief and then gradually realising they don’t have to live that way, is incredible. Being the person who helps them see that change is possible feels life changing, not just for them but for me too.

Another thing I’m really proud of is that around 90% of my new clients come through referrals. To me, that says so much. It means the people I’ve worked with trust me enough to recommend me to their friends and family, and that’s honestly one of the biggest compliments I could ever receive.

For me, those are the wins that really matter, knowing I’ve played a part in someone’s journey to help them live the life they deserve.

What advice would you give to someone thinking about starting their own business?

My advice to someone thinking about starting their own business would be to just begin, don’t wait until everything feels perfect, because it never will. When I first started, I had all the usual doubts: what if I’m not ready, what if I fail, what if no one books in? But the truth is, you learn as you go, and every step forward teaches you something.

I’d also say: make sure you’re passionate about what you’re doing, because that passion is what carries you through the tough days. For me, knowing I get to help people transform their lives keeps me motivated no matter what challenges come up.

And finally, don’t be afraid to ask for help. Running a business can feel overwhelming at times, but you don’t have to figure it all out alone. Whether it’s finding a mentor, connecting with others in your field, or just leaning on supportive friends and family, building a business is much easier when you’ve got people in your corner.

What do you love doing in your free time?

I love going to the gym, swimming and spending time with my partner Chris and 2 boys Alex & Jack

What do you love most about our community?

What I love most about our community is the support and connection. Running a business can sometimes feel quite isolating, but being part of a community where people genuinely cheer each other on makes such a difference. I love how open everyone is about sharing advice, ideas, and encouragement, it feels like we’re all learning and growing together.

It’s also about the inspiration. Hearing other people’s stories, their challenges, and their wins reminds me why I do what I do and gives me that extra push to keep moving forward. It’s such a positive space, and I feel really lucky to be a part of it.

Do you have any stories that you’d wish to share about your time with The Women Who Business Community? Collaboration stories or friendships gained, increased confidence or a mindset shift when it comes to networking?

Absolutely, being part of The Women Who Business Community has been such a positive experience for me. I’ve met some truly amazing women through the group, and what’s been lovely is that those connections have turned into real collaborations, friendships, and mutual support.

I’ve had the chance to work alongside some of the women, use their services, and also provide mine in return. That kind of exchange feels so empowering, because it’s not just about business, it’s about building trust and genuinely wanting to see each other succeed.

It’s also shifted my mindset around networking. In the past, networking sometimes felt a bit forced or intimidating, but this community has shown me how natural and supportive it can be when you’re surrounded by the right people. It’s given me more confidence, not just in putting myself out there, but also in recognising the value of what I bring to the table.

What would you say to someone considering joining our community?

I’d say absolutely go for it. Joining this community has been such a positive step for me, not just for my business, but personally too. It’s a place where you’ll find genuine support, people who understand the ups and downs of running a business, and who actually want to see you succeed.

It’s more than just networking, it’s the collaborations, the friendships, and the confidence that’s come from being around like-minded women. If you’re looking for a community that lifts you up, inspires you, and helps you grow, this is exactly the right place to be.

Louise is a valued sponsor of Women Who Worcestershire and we are so grateful for her support and valuable contributions to our community. Her story has inspired many of our members and will continue to do so in the years to come.
