Meet Kaye Heseltine, the founder of Kaye Heseltine Design
Kaye is a graphic designer and branding specialist who helps ambitious business owners create professional, standout brands that hit the mark every single time.

As business owners, we pour our hearts into what we do and it’s so important to have a brand that not only looks strong but feels authentic, something you can truly love and be proud of. That’s exactly what Kaye helps you achieve.
Branding is so much more than just design. With Kaye’s expertise, you’ll discover:
- A brand identity that resonates deeply and authentically with your vision.
- Showing up confidently, knowing it perfectly represents your business.
- Renewed excitement and clarity about your mission.
- Valuable time back to focus on what you do best, instead of struggling with endless design tools.
- A clear identity and the knowledge to apply it consistently and effectively.
If you’re feeling a bit “meh” about your current brand, it can really affect how confidently you show up and ultimately your success. But with Kaye’s skill and support, your brand can go from meh to magically magnetic.
Milestones like going limited, winning awards, growing your team, or stepping into a new chapter are the perfect times to refresh your branding. Kaye loves helping business owners celebrate those moments with design that truly shines.
We absolutely love Kaye’s enthusiasm for great design and we’re confident you will too!
As part of our #BigLoveForSmallBusiness campaign, we asked Kaye the following questions:
Why did you start your business?
“When I was made redundant from my part-time graphic design role, I saw it as a chance to rethink how I wanted to work. I didn’t want to return to a full-time job. I wanted to be present for my boys (13 and 9), do the school run and enjoy the holidays with them. Self-employment had been on my mind for a while and this felt like the perfect opportunity to take the leap. Now I earn a living doing what I love, working with fabulous clients and still having the flexibility to be there for my family. It’s been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.”
What motivates you to keep going?
“My business is my me-time. It gives me a sense of identity outside of being a wife and mum. I take real pride in earning a living doing something I love on my own terms. It challenges me, keeps me learning and gives me a creative outlet. But one of the biggest motivators is the flexibility it gives me to be there for my boys, I get to build something for myself whilst still being present for school runs, holidays and all the little moments that matter.”
What challenges have you faced?
“One of the biggest challenges has been navigating the feast and famine cycle; finding consistent work and keeping the pipeline full can be tough, especially in the early days. Juggling client work while also working on the business (not just in it) is another ongoing balancing act. And of course, mindset plays a huge part too, building self-belief and staying confident through the ups and downs has been something I’ve had to work on.”
What are you most proud of?
“Earning a living by working for myself is something I dreamed of, and I’m proud I made it happen. I’m also proud of how I’ve managed to balance home life and work life, creating a business that fits around my family. I get to work with amazing female entrepreneurs who want to collaborate with a designer who truly gets them. Another big win has been learning to say no to work that doesn’t align with me. It’s taken courage, but it’s helped me stay true to my values. The mindset shifts I’ve made along the way have been huge.”
Your advice for new business owners?
“Work hard on your mindset – Starting a business takes courage but it also takes clarity and intention. Don’t just stay busy for the sake of it. Focus on meaningful actions that move you forward. One question I ask myself often is: What one action today would have the biggest impact on your business?”
What do you enjoy outside of business?
“I love swimming, especially wild or sea swimming. I also play netball in a friendly local league. Of course, I love spending time with my husband and our boys, even if that often means ferrying them from one activity to the next!”
What do you love most about The Women Who Business Community?
“I love how supportive and welcoming it is. The meetings, both in person and online, are always full of energy, encouragement and fun. I’ve met so many inspiring women through the group – they really are the friendliest bunch!
When I first joined, I was nervous about networking, but that quickly changed. The support and positivity helped shift my mindset and now I genuinely look forward to the meetings. I’ve even gone from attending meetings to now leading the Bridgnorth meeting monthly. It’s been such a confidence boost and such a big part of my business journey.”
What would you say to someone considering joining the Women Who community?
“It’ll be one of the best decisions you make. Get out of your own way and experience the power of genuine, supportive networking. The Women Who Business Community is full of inspiring women, being part of it can truly boost your confidence and your business.”
