Meet Helen Davies, the founder of Worcester based small business, Citrus Web Design.

Helen joined The Women Who Business Community last spring and often tells us she doesn’t know why she waited so long to become part of our community.

Helen specialises in Wix websites, website management and marketing support, working closely with her clients to create affordable websites to be proud of and stay in control of.

Beyond the gorgeous, zesty citrus branding, what we really love about Helen is the way she works so collaboratively with her clients, helping them not just build a website but to also shape web strategies that work as hard as they should to get the best results.

Why she started her business

Helen launched Citrus Web Design to give herself more freedom and choice over her hours, her clients and the kind of work she does.

What keeps her motivated

Her biggest motivator is her daughter. Helen says:

“I want to be a good role model for my daughter, to show her that with a good plan and hard work, you can achieve anything you want. I also want the flexibility to spend more time with her in the holidays, and to give her a wonderful childhood, great education, and special memories.”

The challenges she’s faced

Like many small business owners, Helen has found it challenging to maintain a steady stream of enquiries and to juggle time management when there’s always more work than hours in the day.

Her proudest moments

Helen is especially proud of building two busy charity websites that make it simple for the public to access the services they need.

Her advice for new business owners

“Do your research. Is there a big enough market for what you’re offering? Can you sell enough to create the life you want? Look at your competitors and ask yourself: what makes your business different enough for people to choose you?”

Life outside of work

When she’s not working on websites, Helen loves family dog walks, day trips to zoos and gardens and exploring new places with her family.

Helen says what she loves most is that you’re never alone:

“There are hundreds of other women going through the same things, balancing home life and work life. I’ve made genuine friendships and found a supportive network that’s had a real impact on my business and personal wellbeing.”

In her year with us, Helen has:
