Women Who UK Network Well group members outside ready for a Winter walk

Network Well

Our Network Well Manager, Petra Bland, Founder of PB Fitness and Rhythmic Gymnastics Worcester, leads our popular Network Well events; networking events which are hosted outside, whilst walking around the beauty of Hartlebury Common.

Inspired by Petra’s passion for good health and movement, we launched Network Well on 28th March 2023 to offer an opportunity for members to get away from their desks and experience a different way to network which combines the benefits of meeting like minds whilst enjoying the rejuvenating effects of nature.

Why does network well take place outdoors?

Nature has a remarkable ability to boost creativity and productivity. Studies have shown that spending time outdoors can enhance cognitive function, improve problem-solving skills, and spark innovative thinking, meaning you’re more likely to think creatively and engage in more meaningful and inspired conversations.

We all know that walking can reduce stress, improve mood, and increase energy levels and members have reported a positive increase in mood immediately after our Network Well sessions.

We have always appreciated that meeting new people can sometimes be awkward, but our relaxed approach to networking in general is further enhanced by the informal setting of a walk along a scenic trail can serve as a natural icebreaker. The relaxed environment makes it easier to start conversations and connect on a personal level, leading to more genuine and lasting professional relationships.

Changing the setting of your networking activities can provide fresh perspectives. Being in nature can inspire new ideas and viewpoints that might not surface in a conventional office environment.

It can also foster a greater appreciation for the environment, raising  awareness about the importance of nature and promote sustainability. It’s a chance to combine professional development with environmental consciousness.

Our Network Well events offer a refreshing alternative to traditional networking methods. By combining the benefits of nature with professional interaction, you can enhance your creativity, health, and relationships, making these activities a valuable addition to your networking strategy.

How to join a network well event

Petra’s personal thoughts …

My first networking session with Women Who Worcestershire was in Bromsgrove. I remember being anxious as I never really liked networking and the idea of pitching myself in 60 seconds. However, once at the meeting my anxiety calmed and I felt very welcome. The space created by Women Who was safe, supportive and friendly and I felt great being part of it.

When the opportunity came up for me to become a Women Who Brand Representative for this great network, I didn’t hesitate. I remember sitting in the meeting with everyone as we were looking for a venue in Stourport and then it hit me…..I am passionate about wellness, health and fitness and the idea of having outdoors networking session popped into my head and so Network Well was born.

I run two businesses; I have a family to look after and family that needs me,  so I know how it feels not being able to have time for exercise and reaching for a sugary snack to survive the end of the day. I have been there. But after several trips to the park when I had no energy to play with my daughter, I realised something had to change. I started prioritising me to be able to have energy for what I want and need. And so now I help others to do the same.

I am passionate about helping women to make time for their workouts & nutrition routine to help them feel the best. I know first hand how difficult it is to get stuck behind the business and then looking after everyone else but not you. Often, women leave employment for self employment to gain some freedom back, but end up doing so much more when they are self-employed, so it’s easily done to keep pushing your own needs to the bottom of the list. And as we know we never get to the bottom of the list.

why not join us?

Network Well commits to helping women in business make time for their wellbeing. After all we need to feel our best to be able to serve our clients.

We meet in Hartlebury for 90 minutes that nobody can take away from you. Moving outdoors with like minded women is motivating and empowering and not only will you feel refreshed, but you will also feel accomplished after 90 minutes of walking in the fresh air. You can even bring your dogs!
